My Life experience
I was born in Miyazaki and grew up in Kitakyushu until the age of 14.
I spent the rest of my teenage years plus most of my 20s abroad, for a total of 13 years, during which time I got a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and a Master’s degree in Community Counseling.
In 2009 I moved back to Japan and started working as a professional counselor in Nagasaki with various populations including survivors of intimate partner violence, English-speaking exchange students at a university, nursing school students, and young adults with career and/or social skills development concerns.
In 2015, I moved to Miyazaki. This is when I started working as a contractual counselor providing webmail counseling for participants of the JET Programme and also as a chief counselor of the English counseling program at the Japanese Telecounseling Association (JTA).
I resigned this work in the summer of 2017 to begin preparing to start my own private practice.
In April 2018, I opened Nana no Ki Counseling.
